Greetings,

It is a fact that Blues is the foundation of American Roots music. Over the years Blues music has migrated from the cotton fields of the Deep South, to the Far Eastern regions, and all around Europe. The Blues resonates around the world influencing many genres of music. But, in Africa it has yet to…how ironic!

KHAFRE Productions would like to share with you a series of productions that present excellent educational, cultural and heritage opportunities.
We are teamed with musicians, festival promoters, political officials, museums, International Blues Societies and others for the expressed purpose of reconnecting Mississippi Delta Blues, to its African source. As a team, we are at the forefront of the effort to present “authentic” Blues in Africa! We call it the “Mississippi Delta Blues…Back to Africa Tour.”

Although the Blues has sprouted up in many countries, we feel it’s only fitting that it be rooted, again, in Africa. And, we need your help.

Making it happen!

MONUMENT

    “Building on Traditions”

Traditional African Rhythms continue to influence contemporary sounds in music…there is no end. As music continues to build and be created, so does the “Building on Traditions” monument.

The Base – dedicated to mighty Blues and Traditional Music legends (i.e., W.C. Handy, Mamie Smith, Ali Farka Toure, Fela Ransome Kuti, Koko Taylor, Robert Johnson, Willie Dixon, Howlin’ Wolf, Gertrude “Ma” Rainey, Muddy Waters, Bessie Smith, Willie Mae “Big Mama” Thornton, B.B. King, Sonny Boy Williamson, Robert Pete Williams, Bob Marley)

The Stems—shall hold the leaves that embody the spirit of Sankofa that “returned to the source.”
-Each tree holds ten thousand leaves.

“The Blues are the roots of all American music!”
Willie Dixon
